![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This is the scheme that deals with how your MIDI interfaces communicate with the computer, and how the applications running on your computer communicate with the attached MIDI interfaces. (Come to think of it, how many years has it been since we mentioned OMS in Apple Notes?) These days, working with MIDI on a Mac is much simpler, thanks to one of Apple's many Core frameworks in Mac OS X, Core MIDI. Over the years there have been many ways to work with MIDI interfaces on a Mac - from simple devices that plugged into the Mac's now-defunct serial ports, to more advanced multi-port models requiring the user to tame the now-even-more-defunct OMS, the late Opcode's MIDI equivalent of a middle manager. I must have downloaded drivers for it when Emagic was still a company, and they worked.Installing a MIDI interface to work with your Mac should be an easy task, but what happens if it doesn't want to play ball? Apple Notes is here to help. The original disk that came with my Unitor did not have USB drivers for Windows on it (yeah, I bought it that long ago!). I just bought a PC for music and want to use my Unitor on it. I have a Unitor 8 MkII that I had been running on my previous computer. Apple tooked over Emagic long years ago, so for example the MIDI Driver for the AMT-8 (which also was by Emagic) is already pre-installed in every version of OSX. I really dont wonder that the old Emagic AMT-8 runs without problems on USB 3.0, and especially under OSX by Apple. The interface's LEDs light up in both midi in and midi out when i press a key on my keyboard (Korg X5D) and the patch LED is lit, however the USB LED is not.My macbook will not recognise that a keyboard is connected neither will logic. Hi, i am unable to use my emagic mt4 midi interface with Logic Pro X, The cables are all connected fine. ![]()
